Learn about the financial crisis from a guy who draws stick figure pictures on whiteboards – there are four great videos here.

Wassup, 2008 style.

This American Life is a weekly audio podcast, each telling a few stories around a common theme.  Don’t let the name put you off.  It’s a good alternative to TV – we have had a few evenings here where we’ve listened to one of these, instead of yet another episode of a medical drama (although I am thankful my flatmates have given up on Grey’s Anatomy.)  It’s somehow nicer listening to stories than having to keep your eyes affixed on an object, something most of us do all day in our work anyway.  They run at an hour long, each story weighing in at roughly 10-20 minutes.

If I had a blog

I’d probably keep a log of the conversations had outside my window.  We live three floors up at a busy London intersection.  You know it’s busy ’cause even when you zoom Google Maps out far enough so that you get the Eastenders theme playing in your head, you can still see our road.  I dunno if it’s just London in general, or there’s something special about this particular street, but almost every night we are serenaded by a myriad of performers.  If I had a blog, I’d totally write down what they said.

I think I’d also rattle on about the words I had learned that day in Prolific, like ETUI and AALS and OONTS.

Probably just as well I don’t have one.
